Love is only skin deep but a picture tells a thousand words.
Your picture will make all the difference with how well you do on a dating site. Think about it, what the first thing you look at when you are searching for someone to talk to on the site? I bet its their picture. Jackie from Customer Support has advice on how to make the best impression.
Hi this is Jackie from Customer Support, You know every day I approve around 400 photos to be added to our site and let me be completely honest with you. Sometimes I think why did you bother! See, when you are online dating the first thing anyone is going to see of you is your photo. If you upload a bad photo then chances are you aren't going to get the desire responses you want. So here are a few tips to help you achieve the best results for you to help others find you!
Find your soulmate on Swirlr
Firstly to the guys, it's great you have a nice car but your main photo needs to be of you! We can check out your car in your public photos. Also, while I am on that subject, I am sure you LOVE your penis and you are very prooud of it BUT please don't post them to the site. Trust me on this one fellas...the last thing most of we ladies wish to see is a photo of you saluting the flag!
Secondly, to my darker skinned members! I love you all but standing against a black wall with the light off just isn't going to enhance your looks! Did you know the absolute best place to have your photo taken is in the bathroom? Why? Check out the lighting! Generally it's quite bright in there and you can get clearer photos!
Thirdly, and I know you all do it! Posting photos from 1986 isn't a reflection of your true self. Let me tell you, I had the highest platform heels and chunkiest earings ever but that was 20 years ago, fashion is over it and so should you be. This is especially important for the guys...yes you did have hair once..but you don't now...but don't worry, lots of us ladies like you that way. I know... I can hear you say it right now...but I don't have anything recent of me! Well here's the deal, it costs around $10 to get one of those disposable cameras and I know if you get them developed most places will put them on a CD for you so you can install them directly onto your computer to upload them. A recent picture means there are no surprises when you get around to that all important meeting.
Next there is the issue of pictures taken with your cell phone...do you have ANY idea how bad they look? They are generally blurred and so tiny it makes you look like a small ant, not really the impression you wanted to reflect is it?
One of my personal favourites is getting a great photo with good lighting, clear and perfect positioning and then the person has the camera in front of their face! Now I am sure of you have a neighbour, friend, relative etc who will take your photo for you just this once.
Lastly and most importantly. Your main photo is the most important photo you can have, it's the one that comes up on our search results and the very first photo anyone ever sees of you. Sure, your dog is nice and your children are the cutest kids I have ever seen but this is about YOU not them. SMILE! We don't expect you to go and have some glamour shots taken but presenting yourself as your very best self is the best way to show others the real you.
Oh and one more thing, Have you ever looked at your own photos on the site? No? Ok why not do that right now? Just go to "My Home" and then click on My photos and have a look at your photos. Are they clear? Does it represent the "real" you. Can you do better? If you were viewing yourself what would you say about YOUR photo? If you ever have any problems with your photos you can always send them to me via the support pages and I will upload them for you, but please be aware...I am not a miracle worker! If you send me a bad photo then all you will get is a slightly improved bad photo! Remember, you only get one chance to make a first impression so present your best self always.

To me if she cant post a picture than , i believe sheis not truly serious or interested in meeting someone. Its the 21st century, there are so many ways that you can upload a photo today.

Well said Sweetest.I have had the same request for a picture and the men don't have one but give you their other email address to contact them for a picture. To me they are hiding something. The ones that refuse to post a picture on this site for you, what are you hiding:your true status.

I think having a really good picture is great, but I think picture that is not of what someone normally looks like is false advertising. I have meet some people with amazing professional pictures and looked nothing like them.

I myself am tired of the pictures of men flexing or with their shirt off. I'm not fond of the pictures of men around the possesions. I'm not impressed. I'm interested in you, not your car or your house or your motorcycle.

It's only fair to have a pic on your profile. Looks are what gets people's attention in the real world,so of course the same is true online.

Jackie... thank you thank you THANK YOU!!! Maybe people don't realize how important a picture is but is actually the "1st impression" that a person gets of you!!! Unfortunately you forgot one thing Jackie... when posting a pic of Tupac or Aaliyah... NOONE is being fooled!!! We have all seen them so your not fooling anyone into thinking that YOU are THEM!!! Editors Note: sweetest1 didn't you know we have Vin Diesel, Hugh Jackman, Hillary Duff and Brittany Spears all as members looking to date interracially. In fact, we have even had several porn stars....though don't ask me how I know....members told me...HONEST! But seriously I have no idea why people post fake photos..it means you will NEVER be able to connect with someone special because if you start with a lie you end with a lie.

loved the article. it's true that a good photo is the first thing we notice when browsing through the profiles. it's always good to know what someone looks like before you initiate contact with them. but i must say, and i'm sure the girls will agree with me on this one, there is nothing more off putting than a guy posting a photo of his naked torso! i mean, who wants to see that? a nice face, eyes and smile always works for me!

I think the idea of putting pics up is good and bad. True we want to be attracted to someone but a lot of really good people get passed by because they are not "fine". Remember that a pic doesnt tell you what the person is really about...its just a face.

Great points Jackie! Yes a person can definately get a disposable cam or better yet a webcam. I got a webcam for under $30 that takes digital pictures and has a built in mic. That way you feel like you know a person better before you make a real investment into a relationship. I sure hope a lot of people read this article.

You must have a photo posted to get anywhere on this site. Can't tell you how many times I get contacted by someone with no photo and I ask for one it never shows up.

I DO NOT CARE WHAT ANYBODY SAYS , THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE IS A PERSONS LOOKS AND GENERALLY LOOKS CAN MAKE OR BREAK HOW YOU INTERACT WITH A PERSON , AS FAR AS PHOTOS IN THE PROFILE UNLESS YOU COME UP WITH A REAL WHITTY INTRODUCTION I GENERALLY DO NOT REPLY TO PROFILES WITH NO PHOTO AS I,M SYRE ALOT OF MEMBERS FEEL THE SAME WAY , IF I CAN POST 5 OR 6 PICS OF MYSELF ITS NOT TO MUCH TO ASK A PERSON TO HAVE AT LEAST 1 PIC.

I BELIEVE THAT A PERSONS HEART SHOULD BE LOOKED AT FIRST AND THE WAY THEY BROADCAST THEMSELVES OUT THERE... BUT AS WE ALL KNOW WE LIVE IN A WORLD WHERE LOOKS ARE IMPORTANT.. I BELIEVE IF YOU POST A PICTURE LET IT BE OF YOU AND NOT WHO YOU WISH YOU WAS LOL.. AND PLEASE AT LEAST UPDATE THE PHOTO .. WE ALL KNOW WHAT A COUPLE OF MONTHS SITTING IN FRONT OF A COMPUTER CAN DO TO ONES LOOKS LOL... NO REALLY JACKIE YOU ARE SO RIGHT.. WE ALL LOOK AT PICS BEFORE WE LOOK AT THE PROFILE.. IN RARE CASES YOU WILL SEE SOMEONE IN THE ROOM WITHOUT A PIC AND YOU WILL HEAR ME AND OTHERS ASK WHERE IS THE PIC.. THAT IS BECAUSE WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHO WE ARE TALKING TO IT IS ALWAYS GOOD TO PUT A TEXT WITH A FACE.. IN ANY CASE .. WITH OR WITHOUT A PIC JUST BE YOURSELF...

I have found that it doesn't matter that there are pictures-most of them from the guys are many years old. I think the ones that don't post a picture have something to hide, so what are you gonna do?

Great to suggest a recent photo - a lot of people put on older photos - false advertising and no way to start a relationship - neither is lying about your height guys!! I am only 5'9 1/2" - Joe Average but at least the women reading MY profile know the truth!
